Joshua Overman is a 3rd generation builder and Master Carpenter from Colorado. He’s built large commercial buildings, multi-million dollar homes, boats, sets & props for the movies, geodesic domes and almost everything in between. Mr. Overman has traveled three continents and lived in Australia for 5 years.
Mr. Overman was one of 15 second-place winners of the 2018 Harbor Freight Tools for Schools Prize for Teaching Excellence. Robin Kramer, representative of Harbor Freight Tools for Schools, and Dave “Lefty” Lefkowith, Assistant Superintendent of the Louisiana Department of Education, surprised Mr. Overman by presenting a large rolling tool box and big check. The Harbor Freight Tools for Schools Prize for Teaching Excellence recognizes outstanding instruction in the skilled trades in U.S. public high schools. Mr. Overman won $50,000 – $15,000 to use at his discretion and $35,000 to Sci High to support Sci High’s Career and Technical Education (CTE) program.
